This website contains English and Tongan versions of the legislation of Tonga, in force as at the 31st December 2005 (plus some 2006 laws that became available and subject to the note about omissions etc).

This website is not the official source of the law of Tonga – it is a useful resource only, and is expected to form the basis for a new official revised edition of the laws of Tonga, now under preparation.

The legislation is arranged in the form of an index with the main law (Act or Chapter) in alphabetical order, with any amendments nested beneath. The legislation can be accessed by clicking on this link or the LEGISLATION menu above.

Under each main law entry are the regulations and other subordinate legislation made under the main law, with their own amendments beneath them.

This website and the compilation of Tongan legislation is an initiative of the Task Force for the Implementation of Regulatory Reform for Private Sector Development.  The Task Force is jointly supported by the World Bank, FIAS and PEP-Pacific.
